Petrified Wood

Petrified wood is an ancient stone, considered one of the world’s most beautiful natural materials. Its creation? Nature worked twice, forming the tree and then transforming it into solid stone. Hardness and durability characterize petrified wood, likening it to semi-precious stones. It possesses all the colours of the rainbow, incredible combinations, and unique patterns. Since ancient times, petrified trees have been widely used as a decorative material for various items such as boxes, tabletops, handles, vases, shelves, and other volumetric pieces for decorating spaces.

How did petrified wood come to be? If a forest is instantly covered in ash, for example, due to a volcanic eruption, trees over time turn into stone. This is because without oxygen, the oxidation process (decay) does not occur. Organic substances are completely replaced by minerals. Key indicators that make petrification particularly valuable are its bright colours, intricate textures, and its pronounced plant-like character.
